Back up memory

Before updating the device software, it is recommended that you back up the device memory to ensure that no data is lost. It can also be useful to back up the device memory regularly to ensure that no data is lost in case of defects, crashes etc. Follow these instructions to back up the memory.
Before you can back up the device memory, you need to install the program Samsung Kies on your computer.

Connect the data cable to the device socket and to the computer's USB port.

Start the program Samsung Kies on your computer.

Select your device on the list of connected devices.

Step 4 of 6

Select the Sync tab.
Select the required data types to select them.

When the box next to a data type is ticked (V), it will be synchronised.
If required, follow the instructions on the screen to select more settings for the data type.

Press Sync to back up the memory.

1. Connect device and computer

Connect the data cable to the device socket and to the computer's USB port.

2. Back up memory

Start the program Samsung Kies on your computer.
Select your device on the list of connected devices.
Select the Sync tab.
Select the required data types to select them.
When the box next to a data type is ticked (V), it will be synchronised.
If required, follow the instructions on the screen to select more settings for the data type.
Press Sync to back up the memory.
