Set up your phone for web-based email
You can send and retrieve email messages from a web-based email account, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail. Follow these instructions to set up your phone for web-based email.
Before you can set up your phone for web-based email, you need an account with the required email provider. If you don't have an account, you can set one up on the web page of the email provider.
Please note that the steps below are based on a web-based email account. If you have a POP3 or an IMAP email account, you need to use the settings for POP3 or IMAP email. Click here for more information.
1. Find "Mobile Data Network"
Press Settings.
Press General.
Press Network.
Press Mobile Data Network.
2. Enter APN
Press APN below Mobile Data.
Key in www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz
Key in www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz
No username or password is required for the APN.
3. Find "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
Press Network.
Press General.
Press Settings.
Press Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
4. Create new email account
Press Add Account....
Press the required provider.
5. Enter sender name
Press Name and key in the name you want to use as sender name in your email messages.
6. Enter email address
Press Address and key in your email address (such as name@provider.com).
7. Enter password
Press Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider.
8. Enter email account name
Press Description and key in a name for your email account (such as "Private" or "Work").
Press Next.
9. Choose synchronisation settings
Press the indicator next to the required data type to turn synchronisation of the specific data types on or off.
10. Save and exit
Press Save.
Press the Home key to return to standby mode.
