Set up your tablet for email

You can set up your tablet to send and receive email messages from your email accounts. Remember, you need to set up your tablet for internet.

Step 1 of 30

Find "E-mail"

Press E-mail.

Enter email address

Key in your email address.
Press Next.

If an email account has been created already, do the following instead:
Press the menu icon.
Press Settings.
Press Add Account.
Key in your email address.

Enter password

Key in the password for your email account.
Press Next.

If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.

Select server type

Press POP3.

Enter incoming server

Key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

Enter username

Press the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.

Turn deletion of email messages on server on or off

Press the drop down list below "Delete E-Mail from Server".

Turn deletion of email messages on server on or off

Press Never or When I delete from Inbox.

Enter outgoing server

Press the field below "SMTP server" and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you have a Vodafone Mail email address, you need to key in smtp2.vodafone.net.nz as outgoing server.

Turn off encryption of incoming email messages

Press Security Settings and Ports.

Turn off encryption of incoming email messages

Press "Use secure connection (SSL)" below "Incoming Security Settings" until the function is turned off.

Enter incoming port

Press the field below "Port" and key in 110

Turn off encryption of outgoing email messages

Press "Use secure connection (SSL)" below "Outgoing Security Settings" until the function is turned off.

Enter outgoing port

Press the field below "Port" and key in 25

Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Press Require sign-in to turn SMTP authentication on or off.

Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Press Save.

Turn SMTP authentication on or off

If you turn on SMTP authentication:
Press Use the same username and password for Incoming and Outgoing servers to turn on the function.

Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Please note that if you have a Vodafone Mail email address, you need to turn on both SMTP authentication and use of same username and password.
Press Next.

Select email account

Press Go to Inbox.

Press the menu icon.

Press Settings.

Select email account

Press the name of the email account you've just set up.

Enter sender name

Press Your Name and key in the required sender name.

Enter email account name

Press Description and key in the required name.

Press OK.

Select setting for retrieval of new email messages

Press Inbox Check Frequency.

Select setting for retrieval of new email messages

Press Never or the required period.

Finish setup

Press the return icon.

Return to the home screen

Press the home icon to return to the home screen.

1. Find "E-mail"

Press E-mail.

2. Enter email address

Key in your email address.
Press Next.
If an email account has been created already, do the following instead:
Press the menu icon.
Press Settings.
Press Add Account.
Key in your email address.

3. Enter password

Key in the password for your email account.
Press Next.
If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.

4. Select server type

Press POP3.

5. Enter incoming server

Key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

6. Enter username

Press the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.

7. Turn deletion of email messages on server on or off

Press the drop down list below "Delete E-Mail from Server".
Press Never or When I delete from Inbox.

8. Enter outgoing server

Press the field below "SMTP server" and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you have a Vodafone Mail email address, you need to key in smtp2.vodafone.net.nz as outgoing server.

9. Turn off encryption of incoming email messages

Press Security Settings and Ports.
Press "Use secure connection (SSL)" below "Incoming Security Settings" until the function is turned off.

10. Enter incoming port

Press the field below "Port" and key in 110

11. Turn off encryption of outgoing email messages

Press "Use secure connection (SSL)" below "Outgoing Security Settings" until the function is turned off.

12. Enter outgoing port

Press the field below "Port" and key in 25

13. Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Press Require sign-in to turn SMTP authentication on or off.
Press Save.
If you turn on SMTP authentication:
Press Use the same username and password for Incoming and Outgoing servers to turn on the function.
Please note that if you have a Vodafone Mail email address, you need to turn on both SMTP authentication and use of same username and password.
Press Next.

14. Select email account

Press Go to Inbox.
Press the menu icon.
Press Settings.
Press the name of the email account you've just set up.

15. Enter sender name

Press Your Name and key in the required sender name.
Press OK.

16. Enter email account name

Press Description and key in the required name.
Press OK.

17. Select setting for retrieval of new email messages

Press Inbox Check Frequency.
Press Never or the required period.

18. Finish setup

Press the return icon.

19. Return to the home screen

Press the home icon to return to the home screen.
